Congress under siege

Government under siege can probably be the right word to describe the current situation which congress as a party is facing. The combined onslaught of kejriwal and Dr.Swamy both are patriots from different schools of thought. But the later has more muscle to wrestle with the mighty elephant – Congress. What a responsible government must and should do when such serious allegations surface in a relatively non-perfect world. Yes government has the machinery to investigate/prosecute etc., just to verify if there is any substance in these allegations. But none of this happened. This spell of revelations from Team Kejriwal includes vadra-DLF deal, former law minister’s debacle through young India’s fraud. It will be an utopian thinking if we say that congress’s image is intact after all this, with in congress many would say all is well not to mention Digvijay singh and Manish Tewari. I am not talking about coal block allocation any where here. From where this age old part derives such an enormous amount of alacrity in the face devastating revelations? The answer is electorate. But the larger question is, will we ever see the political activism from the bottom? I doubt it. It is told that during the times of adversity man’s real character comes to the fore, that’s why we could see recent urge of running down the RTI act and conspicuously they have backtracked from this step. But what is the way forward. There are many affairs of fraudulent nature which are not seeing the light of the day. We need more Subramanyam Swamy/s for such tasks. It is alarming to see the kind of arrogance crept in to congress; sorry arrogance was/is the hall mark of congress. Let it be the hike of petrol or reduction of subsidized LPG aam admi is not taken in to confidence. Looking for more revelations from people like Swamy, so that the common man is made aware of the real face of congress.
