Narendra Modi's victory and the defeat of "leftist nonsense" ?

A big heave of relief that in Gujarat people voted for the incumbent CM again, though it was never a surprise we have had to go through this. In a way I do see a tiny victory of his detractors, yes with all their combined might it seems they have managed to snatch two assembly seats hence BJP's tally has become to 115 from 117 but there is no looking back as per Modi. I find a reason in that statement. The begging question remains, who was defeated in this election ? It is not congress, GPP or not even fundamentalists but mainly the leftist idiots and pseudo seculars. Let me add more reasons to support my argument. The majority of print and electronic media in this country remained a staunch anti-modi. The amount of ink it spent on vilification campaign against modi is significant and to an extent Modi is also victim of paid media's tyranny and bigotry. The media in this country is essentially left inclined. For eg: The Hindu (new paper) never forgets to pep up the godhra riots issue and it is quite natural that people have rejected them and given a befitting reply to these leftist crooks by voting for the incumbent CM again. If leftism is all about godlessness then why they join hands with Radical Islam and those who propagate conversion to Christianity ( Missionaries ?). Their only stated goal is to bury the only living civilization ie., Hindu civilization. May be for the sake of argument if we agree that they are becoming successful in converting this country to christianity or destructing hinduism they will have to start the job of destroying the gods of other alien religions too and they also know it is an easy task. For now all these forces see a win-win situation, who are they 1. Radical Islam 2. Missionaries 3. Leftists and other anti-hindus. Why an average Hindu has to celebrate Modi's victory because it is a victory of patriotism and Hindutva. Since time immemorial the hindutva and patriotism was almost synonymous. We have had too many dark forces which tried to pull down (and still trying to) this eternal religion, the wrong interpretation and application of varna system, brutal expansionism of Islam, the missionaries assault on hapless, down trodden and many others. But why should Modi's victory be celebrated as a victory of all hindus. Yes. No doubt he is a face of Hindus in Gujurat in particular and India in general but he is not a fanatic you see. Spent all his time and energy in for the betterment of citizens and it is a matter of time he will move to center stage - Delhi ? Congress just wanted to take the advantage of combined leftist onslaught on Modi and projected itself as the messiah of Muslims. But people saw darkness in its appeal hence rejected it vehemently. No wonder the banners read 2012 is trailer and the main film will be in 2014. There will be no growth with the divisive, disruptionist and communal politics of congress forget about the safety. With Modi at the helm of affairs there is no complacency. Main issues which needs to be addressed at the moment going to be in Modi's absence once he is moved to the center stage who will be his successor in Gujarat, who would take his politics of development forward and how to make its tally from 115 to a complete victory, no doubt challenging times lie ahead. I have never seen a demanding public like Gujaratis which made the politicians of Gujarat to deliver what is expected. This state has become a role model of development in this country at least if not in the world. At this historic time I take pride in wishing Shri Narendra ModiJi along with millions of Indians. And may all his intentions of making this country a better place succeed with the help of almighty's grace. Last but not the least, the youth of this country has taken this for granted that Modi will be their next prime minister. So Modiji, please don not disappoint us.

The Invincible Modi and Inevitable Gujarat

The negative campaign on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has suddenly seen a spurt in the recent months. We know assembly elections are round the corner, but his detractors cannot be any more creative. People are just fed up by this negative campaign on Modi. Keep beating the chest on 2002 riots? We know the matter is before courts to decide up on. I could not figure out why media is hell bent on Modi or BJP. I know it dreads congress, reasons are apparent and there is no need for an explanation. All up against Hindutva ? But what is the matter with all, no body talks about the development. It was laughable to listen to Dig Vijay Singh in the recently concluded India today conclave. And he had no direct answers for the questions raised by Modi. This country has seen many riots but no body is asking to move on but it is under courts review. Let me ask for how many years we spoke about 1947 riots or 1984 Sikh killings etc., He himself admitted that he must be hanged if he is found guilty. Terms after term people have given a fitting reply to the opposition in Gujarat, and we are hopeful that it is a time for a change in Delhi too. It has been a decade and there are reports which claim that in the current scenario Muslims are better off than in any other state including the congress ruled states. The GOP of India always plays the trick of communal politics, they know it did not work in UP, let’s not forget that 4.5% quota for Muslims. Can’t we see what is coming? People need change in Delhi and stability in Gujarat. Now why this state is used as a bench mark to comment on other state’s development? And why this state has been awarded the best performing state twice by the central government which is congress. Under the able leadership of Modi Gujarat has surpassed all the barometers of development.

Why he needs to be treated as prime minister-in-waiting in Japan. And the red carpet welcome given for him in China shocked the cultural Marxists in India and other left leaning mortals too. But that’s not all, UK’s endorsement of Modi and Gujarat is indeed telling. US would follow the suit no doubt about it. In the contemporary Indian Politics there were very few Chief Ministers who reached the pinnacle of glory, the likes of C.N Annadurai for example. He was a darling for the common man. But Modi’s uniqueness lies in his consistency in development and his relentless efforts in making this part of the country a harbinger of peace, progress and development which made him move beyond glory and reach highest state. Many say that it is RSS which built him as sheelwan (a man of character and dignity), we would be least bothered all we need is a man of honour and dignity in the helm of affairs.

It is moral bankruptcy of current day politicians has reached to such a devastating levels that no body has the status to juxtapose themselves with Modi. We must take recourse to common sense and ask ourselves that why Gujarat and Modi are almost synonymous. I follow to an extent what Peter F. Drucker says on leadership and on this area he said “Effective leadership is not about making speeches or being liked; leadership is defined by results not attributes” If this test is applied to judge Modi then he is the real leader, he is not only being liked by the critical mass and majority but also have produced the results, results are there for us to see. We cannot see it unless we decide to see it. Hence the recent demand of him becoming the PM of this country is genuine and reasonable. Though RSS – The mother organization has taught to all its kids that cult following should be avoided at all costs and ideology must be given a supreme importance, it is quite natural that people have always held the noble souls in high esteem irrespective of which organization they are associated with. It is a matter of pride for Shri Advaniji that he has mentored some one like Modi. It is not fair to see him through the prism of 2002 riots, but the paid and biased media never failed to keep this issue alive to satisfy its political masters. In this sacred land when we talk about development it is inevitable that we some where mention “Gujarat” and if we are forced to find out the reasons, it is impossible to avoid the name Narendra Modi.

Dumping CAG: Shooting the messenger?

In a utopian world the government will use its full might to deal with the headless monster called corruption. We know very well that we do not live in a perfect world and governments are morally bankrupted in most cases if not in all cases. Going by what Minister of State PMO said that govt. is pondering over the idea of making CAG as a multi member body, it sounds to be a rage against the central auditing body. Now what prompts some body to say this, even a lay man would guess it. Marred by the revelations of monumental scams from CWG to 2G and beyond, it is becoming increasingly challenging to convince the voters whose allegiances and loyalties are fast changing and it is necessarily dynamic. UPA as a coalition did loose its credibility in the recent years, the drubbing in UP in the recent past is one such example. And new discoveries of impropriety of politicians mostly associated with congress are eroding the hard earned vote bank. Narayanaswamy must have used an appropriate thinking hat and concluded that “Let’s shoot the messenger”. Is it the most demanding issue for the country? No. But yes, it’s an issue for congress and government. To think about messing up with CAG is a result of guilty consciousness. Comptroller and auditor general must be allowed a free hand in making sure that the public money is spent for the intended purposes or to verify whether nation’s assets are left at the mercy of vested interests. If some one cannot digest the truth then we shall conclude that it is a guilty feeling. The clean would not degenerate to such a level of thinking (ie. to dump the CAG). It heartening to see that people across political spectrum have condemned the attempts to dump CAG in the name of multi member body.

Attention must be diverted to whether all that is said in the CAG reports can be substantiated. It is startling to hear from CAG that constitutional and statutory bodies like CAG/EC/CVC/CBI are not free from government’s intervention. For some it may sound like a known secret so no wonder. Credibility of congress as a party has taken a severe beating after the release of CAG reports on 2G, Coal scam etc., But the thought of keeping the CAG at bay under the garb of reforms is an act of uncivilized behavior. Now that we know there are not many takers of CAG reform even with in congress and government.

Congress under siege

Government under siege can probably be the right word to describe the current situation which congress as a party is facing. The combined onslaught of kejriwal and Dr.Swamy both are patriots from different schools of thought. But the later has more muscle to wrestle with the mighty elephant – Congress. What a responsible government must and should do when such serious allegations surface in a relatively non-perfect world. Yes government has the machinery to investigate/prosecute etc., just to verify if there is any substance in these allegations. But none of this happened. This spell of revelations from Team Kejriwal includes vadra-DLF deal, former law minister’s debacle through young India’s fraud. It will be an utopian thinking if we say that congress’s image is intact after all this, with in congress many would say all is well not to mention Digvijay singh and Manish Tewari. I am not talking about coal block allocation any where here. From where this age old part derives such an enormous amount of alacrity in the face devastating revelations? The answer is electorate. But the larger question is, will we ever see the political activism from the bottom? I doubt it. It is told that during the times of adversity man’s real character comes to the fore, that’s why we could see recent urge of running down the RTI act and conspicuously they have backtracked from this step. But what is the way forward. There are many affairs of fraudulent nature which are not seeing the light of the day. We need more Subramanyam Swamy/s for such tasks. It is alarming to see the kind of arrogance crept in to congress; sorry arrogance was/is the hall mark of congress. Let it be the hike of petrol or reduction of subsidized LPG aam admi is not taken in to confidence. Looking for more revelations from people like Swamy, so that the common man is made aware of the real face of congress.

RTI: Bugbear for Congress

So at last it seems that RTI has proved to be a Frankenstein monster for ruling dispensation. Thanks that it did not pass Lokpal else it would have become real danger for government of the day. Now why the head of government is so concerned about this and why he wants to change/amend or in other words water down this land mark law further. Yes. We agree that credit goes to UPA for passing it but should the credit also go to UPA for weakening it. Let’s see what the real concerns are, privacy of a private person seems to be the worry but where are the instances based on which PM is arriving on this conclusion. Like editorials of this country have claimed that Vadra revelation has drawn flak for congress. When PM asserts privacy he is surely worried of cases like Vadra.

With this kind of people activism more revelations such as these are to emerge. No political might cannot stop. PM also seems to advocate Public private partnerships must be kept out of RTI purview. This is most shocking. With this kind of thought process the positive law would surely degenerate to nothing if these intentions are executed. If a private company like DLF and a private individual like Vadra siphon public money as it is alleged, why should a normal citizen be denied the right to know the way public funds are drained. And if he finds a fraud shouldn’t be blowing the whistle. Revelations 2G, CWG Coalgate and many other monumental frauds came to light because of RTI. Left parties feel that this law must be given more teeth, i.e., it must also include media and corporate houses which are mining beds of corruption. Instead of strengthening the law further if PM intends to weaken it then it is uncalled for. The next major fraud on this country is UID – Adhar scheme for which already more than 1000 crores of public money is spent with near zero results. In this context yes we understand PM’s concern.

Pakistan’s Bogus War on Terror

War on Terror! What buzz word this has become in the post 9/11 world? May be one is forced to think whether there was no terror before that. Or this has got more prominence because terror has hit the big daddy. Now we shall leave it for the individuals to come to their own conclusions. Since the beginning we hardly had convincing rationale to believe how the accidental super power could buddy up with a notorious failed state for this dangerous game. Why laden was leading a happy life in Pakistan? No body could give reasonable answers till date. Additionally no body wanted to know the answers, because it is an open secret that Pakistan is the mother of all terror and a haven for buddy terrorists. But it still claimed that it is morally upright and a serious peace lover.

The actual and ugly face Pakistan was seen when Shakeel Afridi was jailed for 33 years. The Doctor who helped to capture the top terrorist, by running a fake vaccination drive. Justice is delivered after the laden’s killing. But shouldn’t we be rewarding the one who was instrumental in capturing laden. The bounty in INR was 125 crores I suppose which was announced for the one who captures or provides information to capture laden. But he did not deserve 33 years of prison sentence. Recently Afridi disclosed how he was treated in jail by ISI, but let’s not forget that more than 80 % of the terrorist plots are hatched in Pakistan or has links to this rouge and failed state. In public it claims that it does not need military aid of America to survive on the contrary it decried when Kerry Lugar bill passed, this is worst than double standards. When people cannot live peacefully especially minorities and inflation, unemployment, other evils plague this unfortunate country, the rulers always debate and discuss on how they could line their pockets with the military aid. Forget about being either welfare or policy state it is under the clutches of tyrants. For more than 6 decades this Islamic state has been trying to destabilize this Hindu majority and a secular country as Islamic invaders have tried and been trying to convert this country a 100 % Islamic country, but they can try forever with out success. It’s time for the ubiquitous empire to wake up and take that unpleasant decision to stop funneling the tax payer’s money and demand tangible results from Pakistan for the money it has spent till now.

Anders Breivik : Conflict of Moral Intentions and Immoral Actions

It always amazed me the level of convictions these two young men had. But the substance on which they had allegiance is totally different. One is Extreme patriotism, the other one is extreme religious fanaticism and fundamentalism. Where as one wanted to save his country from distortion and the other wanted to de-stabilize a neighboring nation state. With respect to Anders Breivik’s act of killing more than 70 people motive sounds to be moral when it is juxtaposed with Kasab’s. An interesting point for us to note is how the legal systems reacted in both these cases. Anders is undoubtedly a patriot and wanted to save the whole continent from an eventual degeneration. Though I do not subscribe to the means he employed to fulfill his objective but I have due respect for his intentions. Unlike Kasab he did his own study and came to conclusion or identified the deep malice of the whole continent. Generally this is a result of uncontrolled/unguided reading I suppose? But the Pakistani Terrorist was indoctrinated and was told that his family will be given some money as a favor to his martyrdom. Now Pakistan being a failed state, there is an utter disregard for people’s development. Apart from Allah mongering there is no genuine attempt to improve the life standard of ordinary mortals. I would not talk much about Kasab or Pakistan much out here as I feel I might end up wasting a lot of ink.

Richard Millet just pre-empted what I thought. Ie., Breivik gave to Norway what it deserves. Let’s not forget that the Ottoman Empire spread from the modern day Spain to frontiers of India and swayed the whole North Africa and the cultural distortion it carried out too much for normal person to understand in a short time. I have glanced around 100 pages of European Declaration of Independence Doc 2083. And you cannot deny even a single statement out there; all that is written is indeed a monumental truth. I know many have questioned his scholarly ability to compose such a document, but that is not what we should be discussing but the actual substance. And his sympathy towards Hindus is natural. The prophetic religion’s main aim was/is/will be to establish a Islamic caliphate in this world and the blood thirsty Jihadists are working round the clock to accomplish their goal with full confidence and conviction though no body is sure when that will happen. Now the argument is are all those who are against this fanatic jihadism are standing up together for a formidable defense. The answer is certainly no. May be he wanted to wake up the whole Europe in general and Norway in particular from a deep slumber and gather the attention. But what he failed to realize is that it is only in video games when people/enemies are killed there is no impact and gives pleasure to oneself with out harming any real human beings, I am not talking about Ra-One movie by the way. By murdering innocents he blurred the distinction between him and the jihadis. The another fact which this European savior has failed to notice/realize is that for the current state of world affairs, let it be racism, political instability and many other issues Europe is responsible. He must also have tried to let every one that Europe is at fault first and the violent Jihad seemed to have taken birth to counter crusaders. Scholars have agreed that Christendom and Caliphate’s intention is to rule the world based on a common code. When different competing actors wanted to rule this world, violent quarrel is consequential. When a society is oppressed or in danger from external forces, the oppressed or those in danger must rise up to the occasion and defend. After being relieved from Europe’s tyranny, every body has learnt being more civilized at least in public. So in an era like this the dubious methods employed by Breivik are indeed uncalled for.

Yes. Violent Islam is a threat to the whole world’s stability. But this does not seem to be an appropriate response. The sheer number of Islam followers is increasing because any form of contraception is considered as a sin. On a lighter note may be until the time Indians and Chinese are there the counter balance is assured. I opine that governments must bring uniform laws to control birth rate. Through this dangers of multiculturalism can be over come. There may be many other best ways; it is for the adept political scientists to comment. I am admiring the manner legal proceedings have concluded, and the judiciary is in the verge of pronouncing the number of years for which he must be imprisoned, which might be up to 21 years and in worst case for life he should be in jail.

In a way I see no difference between Breivik and Kasab because both are mass murderers. But one had moral and the other had immoral intentions. I am only subscribing to the moral intentions though not the actions or means employed.

Quota in Promotions : A Cruel Joke ?

The word quota has gained more prominence since 2004. Quota for oppressed communities. Dr. Ambedkar really had genuine intentions when he said all this SC ST identity must be ridden off with in 10 years after passing the constitution. For most of the period after the political independence the country has been ruled by Congress and the backwardness still exists there is no denial. So there is a direct relation between Congress rule and non-development. The divisive politics played by Congress has cost this country a lot. But if we have to ask ourselves a question what is reason for the non-improvement of these oppressed communities? With no doubt it is due to our Grand Old party’s love with communal politics and the apparent benefits it has acquired by playing this.

Suddenly how they have decided that they have to provide quota in promotions. 2014 is an election year and we are at the fag of end of 2012, not sure if congress has started the campaign for 2014 elections. Let’s see then if these tricks would work. All remember what happened with UP elections, where congress started the campaign much early but drew flak and the trump card used was 4.5% minority quota. Cannot forget the darling of congress who tore up the manifesto of SP and did many ludicrous things, but the voters gave a fitting response. But by voting in SP voters have helped congress in a way, pity you citizens. Coming back to our original question is it reasonable to promote some body because he/she is from certain community? My conscience says no and people must be appraised based on their traits and their achievements which sounds to me quite appropriate and more than any thing else it is scientific. It’s an open secret that the quota in promotions is indeed a political stunt. This is worst than the spoil system (Please search for “spoil system” in web). We all know how USA suffered due to this patronage or spoil system. With the fearless patriots manning the key constitutional offices for e.g.: CAG congress thinks it cannot do its regular work i.e., corruption in governance. So creating a class of stooge would serve its purpose and to do that best method seems to be quota in promotions. While the trait rating system is prevalent in many western nations, it is a low point here that loyalty takes a front seat instead of professionalism and traits, more than any thing else results produced by the bureaucrats must be taken in to consideration.

No demanding problems of the day which country faces cannot gain attention of our underachiever prime minister, let it be dwindling economy, National security or other begging problems. But he some how picked up this irrelevant task to divert the attention of the country. And parties like BSP and SP do not want to miss this opportunity to draw some political mileage. No surprise that Washington Post called him a “Tragic Figure”. Every ruling party would try and implement new schemes or announce new schemes only when the elections are nearing. Let me take the example of DMK in Tamil Nadu with respect to helping people to build concrete houses, i.e., those who currently live in huts. This activity picked up speed only after 4 years of ruling. The intention is nothing but return of favor from voters in the upcoming elections which was round the corner and we know what response DMK got in elections in 2011. Narendra Modi is indeed an exception on aspects like these. Time has come for PM to prove every body wrong that he is not a somber personality but a decisive man and start concentrating on the most demanding and begging issues which the nation faces today, instead of picking up a non issue like this. And declare to this world by his actions that he is not a tragic figure indeed.

Assam violence: Reality Check

It seemed to me that it is yet another straight forward conflict between an alien religion to this land and residual religion but it is indeed more than that simple proposition. There are too many complex factors involved the first and foremost is vote bank politics. The grand old party of India does not go by the grand old values on which it formed, its only agenda is to rule this vast land through any means emphasis added. The root cause is unlawful migrants from Bangladesh and the subsequent hesitation from the government of the day to deport them. For the sake of vote bank endangering the lives of our own citizens is certainly atrocious. Recently an honorable speaker in a forum mentioned that where ever Muslims are minority they are turbulent and where they are in majority they are dominant, this is really true. Bodos are indigenous tribes of this land of red rivers and hills, don’t they have right to live peacefully in their very own land. This government does not bother about the Indian citizens, how it could be when the top brass is Italian. 6 years of agitation is gone in vain because, the all Assam student’s union agreed for truce which is a tripartite agreement between Assam government, union government and AA student’s union. It is alleged that lakhs of foreigners are given voter ids and ration cards so that all will be loyal and vote for congress. BJP mentioned Assam as congress lab of communal hate. Going back to Assam Accord, why it is kept in abeyance. After reading the accord I have understood that a new department called Assam accord department has been created which is a nodal department for the implementation of Assam Accord and to monitor the implementation of various clauses of the Assam Accord by different departments in the state. And it also deals with All Assam student union and different ministries of Government of India involved in the process of implementation of the Assam Accord. It has been more than a decade. What is the progress made with respect to the implementation of the accord? What happened to the national register for citizens and foreigner’s tribunal and all that? The important point on this was to detect detain and deport the infiltrators/migrants, which was never carried out in full spirit neither by the state government or the central government. I have taken work flow or process chart on how a Bangladeshi migrant can be identified and deported. This is taken from “As-Is-Study of Assam Accord Department Government of Assam

All this remains in paper. Congress has become absolute corrupt which is a result of its concentrated and absolute power which remains with one single foreign woman. Its pity that voters did not realize the evil designs of the Grand old party and given them the power for the second time for which all are paying the price. In this country Hindu vote is divided but this not the case with Muslims and Christians. In words of the nationalist monk Swami Vivekananda, Hinduism is indeed polytheistic in nature, where conflicting opinions are welcome and every one’s opinion is respected, unlike the fundamentalist regimes in the Middle East or China for example. With the kind of the conversion campaign missionaries (Christian and Muslim) are engaged in to it is said that the so called minority religion’s ratio will be more than 25% soon and they will decide who will rule this country and this task is easy because the majority Hindu society is a divided house, not to mention this leftist distraction above all.

This spell of violence has started after the killing of 4 bodo youth by the Bangladeshi Migrant Muslims. The larger question is why killing has become such an inherent culture of Islam.

Simply ruling a particular part of the country terms after terms through dubious means is not a great achievement but how the citizens of this country have benefitted during that period is moot question. May be we should ask for the northern part of the Bangladesh to be attached to India because we are feeding the Bangladeshi migrants and we need them to be a part of the vote bank. After this recent round of violence the fanatic group of Muslims wants to avenge and they have driven out the northeast brothers from different parts of this country. As Dr. Subramanya Swamy mentions the Muslims have to realize their Hindu ancestry and must be proud of their roots. Let it be Mandal commission or other such commissions it is just a tool to maintain the Muslim vote bank. Congress is interested to rule and it has no other value beyond that. And in that quest importing Bangladeshi Muslims in to India and recognizing them as citizens of this country is one such method it uses and least bothered about the subsequent ethnic tensions which is certainly a national shame. Country has another chance in 2014 to vote out the current corrupt government. And I hope that chance will be utilized to its fullest benefit. Jai Hind !

Safety of kids at schools: A conundrum

Schools are indeed becoming a death trap for children now-a-days. Kids do die at crèche, kindergartens and schools too. My recent memory goes back to yercaud fire accident where nearly 80 students were dead, could not stop the tears after seeing that horrific picture. PSBB is understood to be one of those elite schools in the city to which admission is considered to be the admission to Harvard for example. In India we are always reactive instead of proactive. Coming back to the question of safety again, why there was no supervision while this nine year old kid was practicing swimming. There was a question that a coach can handle only 5 students at a time. What was the situation in this case then was he handling more than he could or did he fail to do his job. It is told that he was handling around 26 kids at that time. PSBB must be sealed for this reason. Or govt. must take over the administration of the school a fitting lesson to all those careless school administrators. Did that mean PSBB did not have enough funds to employ the required swimming coaches when there is a need? All the safety rules are there in papers but when it comes to implementation it is indeed shoddy. Is it too much to expect to be alert through which we can save lives of kids. If safeguarding the kids is becoming a difficult task for schools such as these then government must take over the administration and also and it must be fined heavily and be made to pay the compensation to the family of the child. I know courts have a different methodology to calculate the compensation. When middle class rose to cash in on the opportunities available in the market with respect to abundant jobs available and naturally mother and father have to be necessarily office goers. Recently at a crèche in Andhra Pradesh a baby died because the chapatti she swallowed was stuck in her throat, what a tragedy. It’s high time that some thing concrete has to be done about this.

Proposed Traffic rules – Zero application of common sense

There is a common perception that we Indians are really good at drafting laws/proposals and many other things which we do on paper.  And we are ONLY good at doing this on paper, definitely not in executing them. Colonial masters have taught us this skill really well when we were enslaved. While there is an overall agreement that our roads are now-a-days becoming death traps due to violations of traffic rules. At the end of the day to whom the task of enforcing this law is given. Many argue that these stricter rules would only lead to encouragement of traffic inspectors who strive from the illegal gratification they normally demand when a motorist is caught when his pants are down. What can a law simply do if the infrastructure is not there, I am talking everything from traffic signals, accessible roads, moral officers etc., but I am not asking for high speed auto bahns.
Its max 10,000 for drunken driving and there seems to be different criteria based on the level of alcohol intake.
Alcohol per 100ml of Blood
Offence
Max punishment
30mg
No
NA
30-60mg
 Yes
6 months imprisonment &/ Rs 2000
60-150mg
Yes
1 Year &/ Rs 4000
If the above is repeated within three years
Yes
3 Years &/ 8000
Above 150mg
Yes
2years &/ Rs 5000
If the above is repeated within three years
Yes
4 years &/ Rs 10000 and license cancellation

When I see these new specifications I am sure that the sales of the electronic meters which are used to measure these levels would go high and the companies who promote these devices are going to make money.
For the sake of argument if we agree that the high speeding motorists deserve penalties to a greater extent, because they endanger a human life, but should it be a max of 10 years when the conviction of a corrupted public servant under Prevention of Corruption Act sec:7 it is only 5 years. Now our question can be who is more dangerous to the society? Is it the corrupted government official or high speeding motorist? It would be ludicrous to say that the corrupted government officials do not endanger the people and the society.
I am imagining the situation when somebody is caught violating the rules and the law enforcement officer demands illegal gratification but law does not pounce up on him but the motorist. Does it take to be a Mamta bannergi’s nephew to get an exception from these new draconian rules?
For most of the laws enacted in India it starts with “this law applies to the whole of India except the state of J&K” (Art: 370 syndrome). Will this law target only urban areas of the country or to the whole of the country? How this will be enforced in rural areas, who will check whether a motorist is drunk in a remote area. There are also accidents due to bad roads and no light in highways and driving is impossible, should the state be held accountable, for sure people activism must increase to answer this question.
Election commission of India asserts that due to its voter education program it could increase the voter turnout. Allocation of budget for this cause to run campaigns on educating the motorists about safety driving could be one positive step. It’s important to ensure that the allocated funds are used for intended purpose. Once these rules have come in force we need to wait and see whether it will act as a deterrent.
There is surely going to be a huge increase in aspirants for the job of traffic police officers, as it provides an enormous opportunity to earn name, fame and not to mention illegal gratification.
