Dalit Leaders and their Hindu hatred.

Recently I have attended a seminar on late C. Iyothee Thass a Dalit Leader from Tamil Nadu, which was conducted by Dept. of Philosophy, University of Madras.  Iyothee Thass fought against caste oppression and was a leading light for Dalits. This event was attended by Dalit elites including Thirumavalavan, leader of a political party Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Party - VCK. The whole event was practically less about Iyothee Thass and more about Hindu bashing, more precisely bashing Brahmins. Their whole construct is that there is nobody else apart from caste Brahmins in Hindu society. And at a political level BJP & other Hindutva forces represent them. This is the premise of their hatred towards Hindu society.

Such hatred is certainly uncalled for in a society or a country where constitutionally speaking Scheduled Castes are given a great deal of reservation, and I am in no way claiming that reservation has helped them completely. I have personally said it many times; Hindu society has alienated few members (Dalits) of their own family in the name of imaginary birth based caste system. Caste Brahmins have twisted this system to their benefit. There are no two ways about it. Anyone who says that it is birth based should only listen to Sri DharmaPravartaka Acharya (or Dr. Frank Morales) for a detailed explanation.

It is painful to see the Dalit Leadership spewing venom in a non-stop manner against Hindus among Dalits. Next time when Dalit leaders open their mouth to abuse Hindus, they should know that some of the great voices against Caste system came from within Hindu society, for example: - Ramanujacharya and Dayananda Saraswati, both are great social reformers of their time who fought against caste system in Hindu society. The Dalit leaders conveniently ignore these truths. For they are worried that if these facts are brought to the fore, there will be little following for them which will be antithetical to their political fortunes.

It is important to know how anyone would get legitimacy among Dalit leadership. Unless if someone is ready to abuse Hindus, he/she is not considered as an authentic Voice speaking for Dalits. The only groups that would benefit from such hatred against Hindus are Islamists, Christian Missionaries and Communists. Their motives and political goals are well known. So to abuse Hindus is the only qualification to get recognized as an authentic Dalit voice.

In the post independent India, the lack of improvement in the conditions of Dalits is also to do with Political parties that were practising vote bank politics, foremost among them is Congress party, because they are already experts in creating Muslim vote bank and minority appeasement. Partition of this country is the result of Minority appeasement. Instead of such negative politics, the energies should be spent to show real empathy towards Dalits without any political motive. Hindu society has to go that extra mile to prove its credentials.

The present day Dalit leadership may be appropriately equated to the Hate Figure Jinnah. Both of them fooled their followers perpetually. While Jinnah divided this country in favor of Political Islam the Dalit leaders are planning to do it under different pretext.

Doing Dalit politics is not about spreading the ghetto mentality among Dalits and say that they are different and Hindus are their enemies. Instead genuine attempts should be made in facilitating their entry to join the mainstream, psychologically speaking.

Even though Ambedkar called Hindus as sick men of India, he still is considered as a genuine Dalit leader but not others who came after him. Look at the article 334 of Indian constitution and let’s ask ourselves as to why this provision had to be extended for every 10 years? This is enough to prove that the intentions of political parties, they are doing vote bank politics and don’t want Dalit emancipation to happen any time sooner. If given a guillotine Dalit leadership may exhort the indoctrinated Dalits to behead Hindus in mass scale, such is the hatred they are spreading.

What inhibits Dalits in joining the mainstream thinking is because Dalit leadership is not willing to assist Dalits in such a progressive transition as they would lose their vote banks. Like we have already discussed, this has come in handy for the anti-national & anti-social groups like Christian missionaries, Islamist groups and Communists. Though their interests diverge in many aspects but when it comes to their hatred towards Hindu society, there is no difference of opinion among them. Hence these groups prey on Dalit communities, while Christian missionaries convert these people at their will through inducements, the others continue with their brainwash. The Missionaries are telling the converted Dalits not to disclose that they have converted to Christianity to make sure there are no issues with the reservation benefits. This is the height of Bigotry that is practised without being noticed.

Under these circumstances the nationalist forces should work among Dalits and other progressive Dalit leaders, for the sake of Dalit Emancipation. That is the only way to isolate the false Dalit leaders and help improve the conditions of Dalits.

Protecting Cow is a Gandhian Ideal

On the other day I have been talking to a journalist on the subject of new law that has been passed in Maharashtra and has received a presidential assent, yes a law that bans cow slaughter. The journalist with whom I was talking to declared that the act to ban cow slaughter was illegal and it is taking away her fundamental rights. But then I pointed out to her that stopping cow slaughter is something that is enshrined in our constitution, i.e., in the section of Directive principles of state policy. For which her response was right to eat anything was her fundamental right that right trumps Directive principles of state policy. Though I have tried to convince her by arguing that there is something called as judicial review and Directive principles trumping fundamental rights is inherently a flawed argument but she dismissed me as a person incapable of having a conversation on this subject. This is because I have questioned her beliefs. The purpose to explain this conversation is to highlight how less informed or partial our so called intelligentsia in their assessment before passing judgements.

Those who question this act should ask themselves one question. Have I accepted Gandhian principles? If the answer is yes, then there should be no objection to the ban on cow slaughter. Though it is a different matter that by the very word “Ban” people who are inspired by imported ideologies like communism go ballistic and shout over their voices that it is against their dietary habits etc., we shall conveniently ignore such a nuisance as it is completely democratic to ignore them.

Though it is not justiciable in any court for its non-adherence by state but the government in conducting its affairs must consider the Directive Principles as its guidelines based on which it should frame its policies. So any policy decision or act that is borne out of DPSP (Directive Principles of State Policy) is legal and stopping the cow slaughter is part of DPSP additionally it is also a Gandhian ideal, if we condemn this ideal we are essentially condemning Gandhi. In addition to banning cow slaughter there are other ideals that were close to Ganhi’s heart which are added in to DPSP by the constitution makers, creation of village panchayats for example.

During constitutional assembly debates Giani Gurmukh Singh Musafir (Representative – East Punjab) said:
I would like to say with all the emphasis at my command that these Directive Principles should be inserted under the Chapter on Fundamental Rights
Such was the intention of our leaders on DPSP. Hence the arguments such as ban on cow slaughter taking away some one’s fundamental right are not only illogical but bereft of historical purpose envisaged by the legal luminaries who drafted our constitution

The fact that we have built our constitution by picking up the best available in the world is itself our expression of our power of assimilation, hence the incorporation of DPSP from Irish constitution. This is in line with our Vedic culture “let noble thoughts come to us from every side” – (Rig Veda 1.89.1)

Of course it is possible to see banning of cow slaughter through religious lens, but this debate is not restricted to just that. We shall understand the economics behind it. In his speech on Cow Protection in Bettiah on October 9 1917, Gandhi said:
This is not merely a religious issue. It is an issue on which hinges the economic progress of India. Economists have furnished irrefutable figures to prove that the quality of cattle in India is so poor that the income from their milk is much less than the cost of their maintenance. We can turn our gaushalas into centers for the study of economics and for the solution of this big problem. Gaushalas cost a great deal and at present we have to provide the expenses. The gaushalas of my conception will become self-supporting in future. They will not be located in the midst of cities. We may buy land in the neighborhood of a city to the tune of hundreds of acres and locate these gaushalas there. We can raise on this land crops to serve as fodder for the cows and every variety of grass
He further stated that :
Cow protection is an article of faith in Hinduism. Apart from its religious sanctity, it is an ennobling creed
Such was the stand of Mahatma Gandhi as far as cow slaughter is concerned, so to call it as a violation of fundamental rights is not only incorrect but tantamount to calling Gandhi a violator of people’s fundamental rights

Individuals & groups with political motivations are bent up on to politicize what is essentially an apolitical issue by whipping up Muslim apprehensions and trying to equate it with Muslim rights or  minority rights, this not only amounts to political immorality but intellectual dishonesty. By and large Muslims are indeed willing to appreciate the religious sensitivities of Hindus with regard to cow slaughter as Hindus have been appreciating Muslim’s reservation about certain animals. Many states in India have laws that ban cow slaughter. It is a great tragedy that Congress led state governments play politics with this issue for the sake of vote banks. Also it is a greatest insult to Muslims as congress thinks that by such silly manoeuvres it can secure Muslim votes.

Ban on Cow slaughter will give a facelift to village economy and its self-sufficiency in addition to assisting the poor to pull themselves out of poverty and hunger, this will also lessen the burden of state in providing employment guarantees etc.,

Cow is rightly considered as mother; after all we drink her milk, even though we might have stopped feeding ourselves through our mother’s milk at an early stage of infancy, but we are fed by another mother - Cow through her milk until our death, also after death. The last thing we should be doing is to slaughter someone who has been feeding all of us like mother throughout our life. It is time to move beyond petty agonies and politics.

Other states in India should take the cue from Maharashtra and introduce state level laws banning cow slaughter or the central government should initiate the discussion for a central law banning cow slaughter.

Conservatism: Political V/S Economic

The rise of Narendra Modi & BJP through a historic win in May 2014 General Elections has in a way marked the end of Centre of left forces on the political land scape. But it is generally perceived that this has got nothing to do with ideological affinity between voters and forces of political right, but about economics. Hence the dichotomy of political right versus economic right must be discerned with in the Indian context.

While the imagination of communists could not go beyond the narrower theory of economic exploitation of human condition by capitalist forces, the admirers of Communism did not want to accept this political ideology as it is, hence they have customized this to their local conditions and called it as socialism. That is why you could see in the name of communism/Socialism people could do horrible things across the world. Be it the polpot in Cambodia, Stalin & Lenin in USSR and on the other extreme Cuba and Venezuela.

When it comes to economic right the debate was always between Free trade v/s state controlled economic systems. If we have to go by results of the past 50 years then free trade has won the game, notwithstanding the 2008 crisis. India has always been at cross roads. Even though the congress leaders were entrenched in Communist ideology and their visceral hatred towards Political-Hindu right, they were confused as to which path they should take. As they were already aware of the violence that was being committed in the name of communism throughout the world during their time, though they could not have acknowledged this publicly. Hence this confused approach of mixed method of economic policies.

The intention of such an approach was to use the best of both the worlds. The other way of looking at it is as indecisiveness of Congress leaders who ruled right immediately after India’s independence for a considerably longer period of time. The other phenomenon that the left could not explain was why until economy was liberalized there was no change in human condition in India? We should pursue some answers for such questions.

The primary problem was that the communist (Congress & allied) forces clubbed the economic & political ideologies in to one. Though an effective articulation of their political ideologies could have kept them in power for decades, but since there is no impact in the lives of ordinary people because of leftwing economics, people started rejecting Communists as a whole, the defeat of Congress in general elections is a compounded result of such an effect in addition to other reasons.

Indian political right is normally associated with BJP & RSS, in other words Hindu right. The Muslim & Christian right is hushed up as minority rights etc, which is not only incorrect but dangerous. First of all Muslim & Christian right has got nothing in common with Hindutva i.e., Hindu right. While the former talks about a theocratic state they later emphasizes decentralized polity. The Ramrajya which Mahatma Gandhi desired is an example of polity which Hindutva aspires to achieve, after all nobody can call Gandhi a communal.

But the economic right is totally different from political right. We can loosely call the economic right as the lobby group of free market, but it does not end just there. Additionally there is no political party in India that supports blanket capitalism; the problem has always been that of an effective regulation & implementation of rules and role of the state as an impartial facilitator.

For decades Congress and Communists have managed to morph two different strains of thought in to one calling it as political ideology and churning out political explanations for the economic condition of peoples without actually improving their lives. They instead chose to feed citizens with subsidies and other free sops with out empowering them by generating employment and other opportunities.

Political stability is possible only through economic stability. We have had examples of an ordinary citizen trying to assassinate American president due to frustration out of economic insecurity, read Charles J. Guiteau.

At the moment the media stirred up controversies are used to feed the prime time watchers with some propaganda that Political Hindu-right messing it up. We should understand that this in in line with a larger game plan i.e., to restrict the chances of coming back. This might create an impression that political left (Non-BJP) is having an edge over the govt. we should see that when the time is up to pass the bridge.

The economic right has given the government a long rope and is still with the govt. People are fine with this as long as there is an improvement in their lives economically speaking in a time bound manner and BJP might not want to wait for all the five years. The Govt. should expect more distraction from political left further for the next four years, this will continue until they are defeated more decisively in 2019 elections. Along with addressing challenges of Political left, the govt. should simultaneously deliver on the economic prosperity. We all know Modi is just good at that. We have seen it in Gujarat. India wants to feel it.

Bigotry & Communism : Two sides of the same coin

What should be known before falling prey to the #Communist trap. It should be admitted that it is appealing on the face of it. That is why the legends like S A Dange & HK Surjit felt helpless, though they knew that most horrible things are done in the name of Communism. Another side of the story is that we all know that for Communism the only enemy is capitalism and its world view was shaped out of oppression people have undergone when Europe caught up with Industrial Revolution. As they saw the reason for worker's suffering was capital that was funnelled in to industry and decided that they would eliminate capitalism. In principle these communists (or Marxists) are against religion,Imperialism etc.,

But only in India Communists collaborate/collaborated with their stated enemies, ie., imperialists,Christian missionaries & Islamists. That is why Karl Marx favoured the destruction which the colonial British administration was carrying out in Asia in general and in India particular. And concluded that what British is doing in India as Creative Destruction and hence we (Communists) should not oppose it. This is the background of Communist's anti-Hindu nature. If Marx has said that "religion is the opium of masses", shouldn't that include all religions ? Why do you think only Hinduism is singled out ? Not Christianity & Islam ? Almost all the so called rationalists are Communists, who are supposed to be fighting the Superstition in all religions, but they do it in only Hinduism not the superstition in Islam & Christianity. Firstly targeting superstition in Islam & Christianity is not their focus. Otherwise they should have highlighted gimmickry which is normally the feature of masses conducted by Christian missionaries where that father keeps his hand on the forehead of someone who understandably is affected by some disease and that touch heals him. This touch cures diseases from Brain tumor to AIDS, that is what the claim is.

Hence the takeaway is, though Religion (all religions),imperialism & capitalism are sworn enemies of Marxists (Communists), but when it comes to India goal posts are changed, only Hindus & Hinduism are their enemies and Islamists & Christian-Missionaries etc., are their friends. This is the highst form of bigotry in practice. We should know it.

The beginning of the End for Congress Party of India

If the recent four state assembly elections are any indication then that means Congress party is headed for a complete burial. The perception of Monumental corruption & Mal-governance are not the only reasons for people’s anger, it is also because of the harassment it meted out to ordinary public (especially urban electorate) on compulsory Aadhar registration, complex bureaucratic hurdles it created in its name and reduction of subsidized cooking cylinders available per year, these are to name a few in addition to price rise and inflation. At least these are the reasons why I would vote against Congress given a chance.

It could have been a heavy jolt for congress which was conveniently banking on Minority & Secular-Communal farce, because all the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe concentrated areas voted against congress in Delhi. During the campaign congress did not offer any tangible ideas or solutions on the most begging issues such as price rise and inflation instead it limited itself to parrot the propaganda on Food Security Bill, Right to Education and Right Information Act, this proves that Congress ran out of ideas and is a victim of limited imagination.

The urban voter has shown Congress Party its rightful place in Delhi and also all voters in other three states. Its arrogance was so enormous that it always felt that it can get away with diverting people’s attention by bringing in secular-communal card. Congress wants this country to remain poor forever so that it can dole out few sops and freebies to earn their votes and then power. Hence you could see a standard practice of doling out free schemes on the last year of every tenure. Food Security Bill is an example of such a pattern. After inheriting a stable economy in 2004 from BJP and being in power for 9 years suddenly it woke up a fine morning and decided to go with Food security bill.

Instead of spending its energies on countering the conditions which are forcing the ordinary citizen to endure a sub-standard life under its regime, it chose to concentrate on Narendra Modi and has been working overtime to fix him on something or the other. What Congress has failed to realize was that the platform to challenge Narendra Modi was Gujarat assembly elections in which too Congress squarely lost. Now it must do some justice for which it came to power. The hollow rhetoric of Secularism is not going to save the Congress any more.

Few talked about dual power centers in Congress and also passed a judgment that it is working well. In my opinion it is a completely misplaced argument, there is no diarchy or dual power centers. There is only one power center – Presidentship of congress. And that is why you could hardly see Prime Minister reacting to anything if not for his party’s complete rout in four state assembly elections, after all it is his government’s policies and workings which affects to an extent voter’s decision in choosing a party during elections. But only Sonia Gandhi and her son chose to react on the results. Doesn’t that mean that for all that PM is doing by occupying the highest post he is simply not accountable?

It is important to acknowledge what Kejriwal and Aam Admi party has done in Delhi but the only worry is it should not become yet another leftist party ending up embracing “Distorting India” as its only goal. It is an era of Knowledge Voter and it is not easy to fool him anymore on some abstract ideas & ideologies.

Punditry says that BJP trouncing Congress in 2014 parliamentary elections is almost a sealed matter. But if Congress wants to secure a distant second position it should seriously think about being honest first.

Marxism & Islamism: Double Entente in India and sworn enemies elsewhere

Have you ever realized that why acts that have a special relation to Hindus (as a Religion) in India gets a sensational coverage? If a Hindu seer is accused of rape why journalists spend over time in chat shows debating it? Often in the name of upholding justice. Let me caution you right away. If you ask me a question whether if someone happens to be a Hindu he has to condone all these acts? Then my answer is I do not care if he is a priest, baba or Seer whatever. If there is a crime committed, Justice must be done. The crime doer must be punished, of course through a due course of law and with proper regard to the principles of natural justice.

In all these cases there is some kind of link with Hinduism as a religion. When such opportunities arise you shall see the parties which are inclined to Leftist Ideology jumping the bandwagon with all its excitement to do what Marxism preaches to do. I.e., to relieve the masses from religious suffering. But how do you achieve that limited goal so that you can form a classless society? Opportunities such as these will not be missed at all. A Hindu mind is too inconsiderate and rationally ignorant when it comes to reacting to this evil design. I.e., a deliberated and concerted attempt to tarnish the image of Hinduism as a religion.

That is why when creators of M.F.Hussain’s creed paint Naked Hindu goddess and claim that it was their creativity and when protests erupt as a reaction to that they would say Hindu extremists are hounding. He is in a way correct, even with more than 80% of Hindu Cultural majority very few people have reacted for this outrageous act with extreme concern, hence extremists?

What drives all these anti-Hindu forces in India? Some pointers are mentioned herewith.
  • Marxist Ideology
  • Paid Cohorts in Media
  • And Political parties which exploits the Heterogeneity of Hindus
That is why you see abuses were hurled by paid media at Kanchi Sankaracharya who was accused in a murder case including the circulation of wild theories against him. Now what happens after he was acquitted by the court? Will anyone admit apology? I hope not. Because that will be going against Marxist ethos.

Just like the erstwhile Illuminati infiltrated in every institution in their time to counter the oppressive church these leftists are everywhere, bureaucracy, political parties, media houses etc., you name anything they might be just there to perpetuate Marxism, ie., to abolish Hinduism. On the face of it, we might think that religion per se means it should be everything, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism and all that? No it is not. In India the target of Communists is only Hinduism. And there is a wide political patronage for this view simply to remain in power by dividing Hindus with castes, regionalism and on other issues, though these parties may not agree with Marxism as an ideology they are fine with it as long as it is helping them to cling on to power.

Take for example Congress Party - the party of Mahatma Gandhi which ruled India for many years, approx. 60. But why do communal riots still happen? What has it done to improve the communal harmony in this country since the riots of partition?

Organizations such as RSS have come as a beacon in highlighting the atrocities (Current & Historic) committed on Hindus by different constituencies including parties like Congress, and their sense of insecurity in understandable by the rise of Hindu Nationalist – Narendra Modi, it needs no further explanation.

While there is a method in their (Congress & Marxists) madness on why they want divisions in Hindu society to remain perpetually, but it is almost interesting to see how the interests of Islamists and Marxists converge within India as far as their goal is concerned, ie., destruction of Hinduism. While Maoists engage in the people’s war in order to impose a classless society on this country but it is shocking to see how Islamists join them or benefitted by the work done by them. In this regard let’s see what the terrorist a.k.a Marxist Kishenji has said on Islamic terrorism :
The Islamic upsurge should not be opposed as it is basically anti-US and anti-imperialist in nature. We, therefore, want it to grow”
This explains the whole picture; Marxists want the Jihadis/Islamists to do their work, i.e., fight their ideological enemy – political right.

Media houses which are guided by the misguided men & women are readily available to do their bidding through their propaganda. And that is why when Muslims engage in riots in Bengal, Assam or Uttar Pradesh and burn Indian National Flag, you will have almost no coverage. Because Marxists & Islamists do not want to see Hindus reacting to what a Muslim is doing?

I have previously too said somewhere that Marxists are very well aware that abolishing Hinduism is a mammoth task and they need some help for which Islamists are more than happy and ready to do it. Once the task of abolishing Hinduism as a religion and culture is over their next task is to deal with Islam which in their opinion is an easy task, it is only in this context why China and Pakistan collaborate though they have two conflicting ideological allegiances and are hell bent in turning India in to one way or the other for Pakistan it is a pious duty to convert it in to sharia and for China it is an Ideological duty. But both want destruction of Hinduism, there are no differences on that flashpoint.

The only way to counter this is to educate Muslims that the leftists are a danger to their religion too. But who will enlighten Muslims?

Who is getting sleepless nights?

The moment we have had the announcement of BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate we have been seeing all non-sense let loose in an attempt to belittle Narendra Modi. But the question is, are they belittling themselves or Mr.Modi? The recent remarks made by SP’s Naresh Agarwal that Mr.Modi a chaay waala (Tea seller) cannot aspire for PM’s job is truly telling of their attititude. Where in the constitution of this country it says that a chaay waalaa cannot become a prime minister or is there any special law which says a former chaaywaala cannot become one?

It purely shows the frustration of Political parties who are living and fooling people with their bankrupted ideologies. Now what qualification did Dimple Yadav and Akhilesh, for that matter what qualification does Mulayam Singh Yadav has to be a CM?

Cannot agree more with Arun Jaitely who said that Modi defied the conventional system. A cobbler could rise up to become a president of the powerful country – USA. What qualification does Nehru have to become a prime minister? What qualification did DevaGowda have?

What qualification does RaulVinci has? Where people lie about their (literally liars) very education aspire to become PM why cannot an honest man who has set record for good governance.

If there is really some worth and credibility left in them they should start answering the questions which Mr. Modi is posing on Governance and development aspects instead of talking rubbish. This applies well to Congress also.

Now Naresh Agarwal should be asking himself what they have done to UP with their Goonda Raj. This only proves the Slave mentality of Naresh. In parties which are in control of dynasties we cannot expect anything better. All the dynasties - #Congress, #DMK, JD(S), SP and others we should be really careful about. In 2014 I hope people will give these feudal lords a fitting reply.

Reflecting on Col. P K Gautam’s recently written paper in IDSA

Reflecting on Col. P K Gautam’s recently written paper in IDSA on Enduring issues of Statecraft, Military Issues andInternational Relations from Cholas the powerful southern kingdom.

It is a scintillating write up which talks about areas which needs focus to solve some of the serious issues which afflict the present day world. Col. PK Gautam talked about indigenous solutions to global problems.

All major issues which remain unsolved in the arena of international politics India has solutions. Firstly in the academic domain there is no great interest in researching our glorious past, even if somebody does, it is completely distorted because of researcher’s ideological moorings. For example, we have Romila Thappar who in a way eulogizes all Islamic Invasions and the destruction that ensued in the name of their religion.

Supremacy of Cholas:

Based on my elementary reading on Cholas I can say that, they were like Brits of 16 th and 17 th century, especially with respect to the invincibility of their naval fleet. They ruled throughout the Southeast Asia uninterrupted for nearly 500 years, engaged in trade with southern part of Africa. And the northern Kingdoms did not dare to enter in to their fiefdom. There was more of an internal conflict within the triumvirate of chera, chola and pandyas.

The take away for a budding student especially like me would be firstly not to go for foreign sources and ideas for everything and waste time, but look within. India was an intellectual power house once and we were systematically indoctrinated by a highly organized but a very small group of people called Brits and were forced to agree that everything indigenous was inferior. This feeling remains intact till this date.

Gandhi said if we have to for a moment imagine that the whole written literature of Hinduism is disappeared and only the first phrase of Isho Upanishad remains, all that lost literature can be re-constructed from that one phrase, Amitabh Mattoo described this in one of his op-ed some time ago. Mattoo went on and added that if the whole international literature has disappeared from this world, all can be re-constructed from the epic Mahabharata. That is the power of indigenous wisdom. Mahabharath is the best teacher you can ever have especially if you are a student of International Politics.

Yes. There were myriad independent political entities in the name of kingdoms but people were united with one culture, which we can conveniently call it as Hindu religion. Though few in the current days who were completely indoctrinated with Marxist ideology might have an objection with that “H” word, truth remains unsullied.

We Indians should take the study of history seriously and learn from our past for the sake of addressing our own problems and subsequently to help others too.

Thanks to Shri. Col. P K Gautam.

Can we separate politics from law ?

Whenever I try to give a political dimension to a legal question, I am cautioned by learned people and teachers by a statement “You should keep yourself away from Politics”. Instantly I would ask myself why?

This is not the question only with respect to academia but in general too. Suppose we are travelling in a public transport and if you happen to discuss your political views with your fellow traveler, what if he does not agree? Or what if he weakens your argument. What if it ends in a duel? May be that is why generally if someone talks about it – Politics, others might just say “here we go we have got another wayward”. If that is the case we should declare “Aristotle” a wayward.

But here I would like to ponder over such cases with in the academia. On the other day my teacher and I were discussing some legal questions on few things, one of the item that came up was federalism and Art: 370 of Indian constitution.

My view was that India is not strictly a federal country; any time centre can usurp all the notional powers given to provinces or states.

And it completely depends up on temperament of the leader who is ruling at a specific point of time. Nehru and Indira Gandhi are such leaders whose tendencies were always unitary and they rarely indulged in the practice of federalism. May be we have had a single party rule for a very long time. But that is not the point.

The moment I have taken few names in politics, comes the caveat “Don’t mix the politics” in law.  Then the question would be is it really possible or is it appropriate to view politics and law as two separate worlds? May be yes. But it should not be, if we are looking for a holistic view. After all law is nothing but the result of political deliberations and in effect law is an offspring of politics. Without politics, law is not possible. But in the Indian context unlike west we have a lot of practical difficulties if we ever have to engage in daily life political discussions. Though in broad terms ‘Politics’ could mean everything we do in our life, here I am only referring to relations between public & political parties which rule the former through an institution called government.

Aren’t we discussing politics all the time? When fuel and cooking gas prices are hiked we deplore the actions of govt. because we know it is they who have taken this decision.

Why academia as a whole does not engage itself in political discourse is an important question. At least teachers from the depts. of Humanities and Social sciences rarely discuss current issues in public or classroom. That is why there is a scant regard for social sciences in India.

In India people do not practice “Transaction based reactions” i.e., you do not agree/disagree with a person but only with issues. Even though congress is neck deep in corruption it is possible that few people including I could agree on few issues that does not mean that I am either Pro or anti.

But the compulsion of teachers not to discuss current politics with students in particular or with in academia at least is because if your political inclinations are known, there will be issues in career progression i.e., becoming from guest prof. to tenure prof. or from an Asst. Prof. to Prof. or to go on and become a vice chancellor or directors. So there is hardly a requirement of your subject mastery. Additionally they fear professional retaliation if they make their inclinations apparent.

In reality if we endeavor to answer critical legal questions in its entirety, keeping politics aside will not help either the student or teacher. Way to go for Democracy in India!

My Comment on Arms Race in Asia between China and India

Responding to Arms race between China and India

There is another possibility like Chinese media some time ago quoted, that India is actually underplaying its missile development program. And Agni V itself is some kind of ICBM, just to avoid an arms race in ASIA India constantly projects a  picture to the world in general and China in particular that it is not racing with them but in reality it is reaching near China's military prowess. But I hope Chinese intelligence is not that dumb in not knowing what we are up to.

Western powers have realized that the embargoes and regimes like MTCR(Missile technology control regime) have in no meaningful way obstructed India's indigenous development of ballistic missiles, though we have to agree that it did sluggish the pace. The job of our scientists is commendable. The issue was always with political leadership.

May be the statements like the one which Avinash Ji made could be because of current circumstances where Chinese at will cross Indian borders and go back. The strategic leadership may have stage managed such comments and reactions in their attempt to create some kind of deterrent to Chinese with respect to border intrusions.

We really do not know if mere statements could cause deterrence. But there is a profound pride on reaching this milestone by India among the educated citizenry.

The reply I got for the above comment :

From JB :

Having something in your drawing room showcase does not mean you know how to or you have the mental strength to use them. In 1962 having far superior air power India failed to put it to resulting in lasting humiliation!

And my further response to it is mentioned below :

Agreed ! But that was exactly what I have said as it has to do with Political unpreparedness rather than Military unpreparedness.

You know, Nehru once declared that India does not need a military. All it needed was a police force to control the public. How naive. The strategic thinking itself was not in deficit, but the strategic thinking of political leadership was in deficit. China never had this problem.

Money, Social Status & Social Distance leads to class consciousness, vanity and false pride

I have been doing an elementary reading on political sociology and found the concept Social status & Social distance more interesting because I then realized that we encounter it on a daily basis without knowledge.

Social status is the starter and Social Distance shall follow as a consequence. Primitive man was never a victim of this non-sense and he led a satisfied life. But then that alone will not be a strong reason to give up the feeling of Social Status. On a positive note if you are a soldier and serving your motherland, you should be proud about that and Social Status which ensues as a result is reasonable and indeed legitimate. The only danger is if you carry the baggage of Social Status all the time and/or your heightened obsession towards this, will only harden your ego and is not good for your mental & physical health. Let me tell you how and why.

The Hindu scriptures quote that Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Mada , matsarya which in English translates to Lust, anger, greed, attachment, pride(vanity, ego) and jealousy are the six enemies of man. Man is virtually a prisoner of these six evils which does not allow him to realize the god within or elsewhere. These six evils act like layers which obstructs men to see and experience what is real. This teaching is at the core of Hindu philosophical thought.

The most dangerous of these six is ego (Ahankar-Hindi/Sanskrit) Ahambavamu-Telegu, Ahambavam – Tamil. And Man’s excessive consciousness of Social Status nurtures this feeling of Ego which is detrimental to his mental peace. With Ego and pride your mind will always be agitated. A disturbed and agitated mind causes severe damage to your physical health too, so it is in your own interest to shun it.

Let’s see how this pans out in real time. For Political sociologists social status maintains some kind of order in society which is positive and is actually required, this is mostly associated with an official position sometimes but mostly it has got something to do with possession of material wealth. If you are a politician your Social Status is different from the ordinary citizenry. And if you are an Ambani like that means you have a lot of money so your social status is different from the one who is a popper.

In the ancient days we have had this caste system through which order was ensured in society, this is a typical example of Social Status, which is primarily associated with the occupation one is engaged in to. Though in the current days there is no utility of caste system it is upheld by some zealots. This is actually a blot on Hinduism itself.

The debate of haves and have-nots: It is important to note that in a society where income inequality is rampant, the have-nots running behind material wealth and the haves being indifferent is quite common. It is a no-brainer that men who possess enormous amount of wealth also maintain status and influence in every arena. This mere possession of wealth and status forces him to maintain a social distance with those who do not have it.

So you maintain a marked distance with your relatives because you are afraid that they might ask you for a material help. Does this not sound like a prejudice? And you want have a relationship with someone who has an equal status (Social status) i.e., someone who has material wealth of your level or even more.

As you move on you develop some kind of profound ego, which makes you think that you have all the power at your disposal and you can do anything you want. This is obviously true. You can literally do anything with money starting from turning a man to woman and woman to man to buying judgments in courts. It shall be noted that many dalal street traders too were in that mental makeup but committed suicide in the verge of 2008 financial crisis. Their Social Status, distance and ego etc could not save their life.

The nature of wealth accumulation is such that you would naturally create a class of stooge, which will agree to anything you say there by catering to your ego which further degenerates to false ego. You end up creating false class consciousness i.e., you call all of them who does not have enough wealth to matche your level either second or third class, which is absolutely not needed apart from genuine governmental purposes i.e., taxing individuals for example.

During my childhood I have encountered a strange mindset of my cousin, she would call me a third class because as a kid of say 10 years old I would enjoy blowing soap bubbles. I never knew that if you blew soap bubbles you are a third class. For a very long time I thought about what could be a potential reason for this peculiar behavior, why would she call me a third class?

I realized that as far as I see the only difference was that of a classic case of haves and have-nots. She too was a kid of tender age; somehow her family socialization has taught her that all have-nots are either second or third class. That is a disturbing behavior. This false pride sustains your ego. And you tend to think you get some kind of superior plane because of your financial status, which is rubbish. Because a financially inferior person could be superior in other facets of life.

So it is not too late. If you are catering to your ego through your false pride which rests on the premise of possession of money or because of your official position, ie., say you are an employee of governmental organization or you are an employee of an IT company or you are simply living abroad after some brief education etc., you do not gain some kind of imaginary first class status. If you think you are in that class then you are a victim of your ego and this will not allow you to become a perfect human being. So stay there at your own risk.

Why China gives a damn about India?

Did you ever think about why China gives a damn about all the rhetoric India is engaged in to when on a weekly basis (if not daily) it breaches India’s border on the pretext of issues with border demarcation.
Some of the reasons why I think India will never stand up to Chinese hegemonic aggressiveness are:

India is seen as a weak democracy?

Aboriginal thinkers like Aristotle called democracy as a mob rule in its extreme form, which is without doubt a pre-requisite of turning a stable state or society in to anarchy which will further destabilize the polity. Bench marking democracy can be another topic altogether and people have already written too much about it or I may be oblivion of complete list of such writings at the moment. Among plethora of such criteria which could describe India’s weakness as a democracy, “Coalition” politics is one such element. The single largest party could never take any decision for the interests of all the people of India.

Asymmetric warfare

I do not want to enumerate then juxtapose Chinese and Indian armaments here, but it is an open secret that India is no match to China’s conventional weaponry hence chances to win an upfront confrontation are bleak. Part of the problem is as experts say that it is because of issues with defense procurement. The bogey of corruption has already swayed defense sector too. So India’s inferiority with respect to Military hardware on relative basis with china is going to remain for sometime in future if not forever.

Parties of Myriad ideologies Or Myriad Ideological parties?

For any student of sociology or Political Sociology Indian society is a great platform to study and get awed by its complexity in nature. Hence there exist parties of different ideologies catering the psychological bent of different societies of Indian Society. Hence Indian society can be rightly called as mosaic of different societies, caste and religion forming an important part of it.

For Communist parties a right reaction to China means a breach of their ideology just like for parties which thrive on Muslim vote bank and divisive agenda reacting to Pakistan means harm to their established vote bank.

Weak Leadership

The face of India’s leadership is seen as a weak one. Yes. I am quoting the Prime Minister. If it is just a perception problem as it is made out then people have to work accordingly to dispel the myth of his weakness. But the truth is contrary. He requires to be gagged by the opposition to comment on matters of national importance, forget about leading any strategy. The Chinese know this well.

Credibility is built on actions taken but not on rhetoric

Though Govt. Of India takes tireless efforts in duping the public of India as far as Chinese incursions are concerned about the incursion’s non-interference in diplomatic engagements, it was never an effective bargainer with China.

For diplomacy to succeed India must strive to become an equal partner. Now China knows it is a long shot for India, hence it gives a damn about India and its standing in international fora.

The Hobbesian thought: It is “Fear” that subjugates men

Recently I have been talking to some of my friends who work in corporate world i.e., white collar workers. Some had a real fear that with the current state of Indian Economy and a dying rupee their jobs are in real danger and their sense of job security is dwindling gradually.

In the whole conversation I have had with one of my friend recently about this subject also with few other friends one thing that stuck me was their fear on whether they could be shown the door for some unexplainable reason.

Keeping this incident (me talking to some of my friends about the job security etc.,) aside only for a moment, I shall indulge in talking about something I read on FEAR recently.

As a part of elementary reading on the subject Western Political Thought I came across a thinker Thomas Hobbes who propounded the idea of social contract and discussed in length about an important component of man’s inherent nature which is “Fear”.

If we have to for a moment assume that there are no governments or any other institutions which protects men, he will live in a continuous fear of death from his fellow human beings because there is no public interest and every one will act in his own self interest. In his words on the nature of men– “continual fear, and danger of violent death; and the life of man, solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short” This is exactly what is his idea about man which was no doubt based on experiences of times he lived.

But the element of fear in my opinion is applicable to all times including the future. Imagine if there is no law that says that if you kill others you will be awarded death sentence, any petty fight will lead to death/s of humans, and it is because the killer knows that there is no body to question his act.

On a positive note, Fear also instills some kind of moral behavior in kids, may be that is why a mother counsels her kid no to do a certain act, if you do god will punish you. This is particularly the case in Indian society. Yes God/religion has a significant utility in keeping men sane. The Point is out of that fear of punishment kid is deterred in acting in a certain way which he could have if the fear was not instilled.
To fear is at times is a moral thing. People often say on commenting some body’s character, he is a good man because he is god fearing person etc.,

Going back to Hobbes again. As someone who is at the stage of infancy when it comes to the subject of political thought I am stunned by the way Hobbes depicted “Fear”, by saying that his mother gave birth to twins i.e., himself and fear, thereby making “Fear” his half-blood.

With due respect to Rousseau’s propounded general will and individual will, there might be few utopians who say that in liberal societies men do not have to worry about anything and his independence is absolute. Frankly speaking there is nothing called as absolutely independence but it is limited to and subjected to certain conditions.

But going back to the theme on which I have started this whole thing i.e., “Fear” of Job insecurity in a corporate especially for the white collars, it has to be noted that at the time of 2008 we have heard the arguments on for and against layoffs then few also argued that crisis was used as some kind of pretext by corporate companies to shed some waste and increase the savings.

The moment you come across a grapevine about an eventual layoff, you could see people working so diligently, so committed at least in appearance and constantly exploring avenues which could keep them in work, all this with a sense of fear and worry. Because they Fear the aftermath of an immediate job loss and worried about the monthly payments towards loans they have taken based on the hefty income they are receiving.

There is another possibility. Corporate world is filled with managers who given the chance are essentially immoral, and are constantly looking for opportunities to subjugate their subordinates at the altar of their authority and want to use grapevine to their personal benefit, so it is in our interest to identify reality of the situation.

To instill confidence I shall conclude that in India which is a booming economy and market place for the products (including services) made worldwide only next to China there is a remote possibility of jobs getting wiped off completely. So if someone was really laid off in a big corporate it may not be primarily because of some sort of economic crisis but may be they just want to rid themselves off from your inefficiency? Or a personal sweat dream and whim of an arrogant & Idiotic manager?

There by “Fear” comes in handy for a corporate to subjugate their employees. This brings us to the conclusion that it is “Fear” that subjugates men.

The Myth of India’s Nuclear Deterrence

The recent unprovoked transgressions in to Indian territory by both Chinese and Pakistan bring to fore the oft repeated question whether India’s Nuclear deterrence is working when it comes to Pakistan and China. It was raised by Prof.Rajesh Rajagopalan in a periodical recently. And it almost sounds true that when India flanked by ideologically hardened neighbors whose commitment towards it appears to be beyond the interest of its own people’s welfare. At least this question may not be relevant to China as it enjoys near superiority in military hardware not to mention strategic advantages.

But it is shocking that with its inferiority on conventional weapons Pakistan frustrates India on a daily basis. While reports suggest that India’s nuclear arsenal is primarily directed on China, it has never taken a clear stand on Pakistan. It is felt that though the “No First Use" doctrine has given some level of moral depth but it has yielded no tangible benefits. While the fixation of Pakistan on Kashmir is understandable, but for all its irrational behavior starting from unprovoked border firing on Indian posts , assisting terrorists to infiltrate to perpetuate proxy war to inhumane acts like beheading Indian soldiers, Pakistan has a tacit approval of China for all its acts.

The deterrence worked only till such time when Pakistan did not have nuclear weapons. There is no asymmetry between India and Pakistan with respect to number of Nuclear weapons. The message is clear for Pakistan on the no first use doctrine. If we are not going to use Nuclear weapon until we are bombarded by a nuclear weapon, there is no question of deterrence. So time has come for us to annul the no first use doctrine..

Unlike Pakistan, Indian society is not anarchic where all decisions had to be taken based on collective consensus especially if it is a decision on military retaliation. If Pakistan was in the same position it would have launched unilateral strikes on India long ago taking the advantage of conventional weapon’s asymmetry.

With the drawdown of US forces in Afghanistan, Pakistan is understandably in tremendous pressure to engage Jihadis in a different theater, ethnic cleansing of hazaras and ahmedia’s is a task which will be taken care by domestic Jihadis and for Jihadis whose business is transnational in nature, Kashmir in particular and India in general is their preferred battlefield and Pakistan’s security establishments are more than willing to assist their quest.

More than anything else India’s stature is taking a severe beating in international arena for its response of zero reaction on Pakistan’s violations. India had two had chances 26/11 and parliament attack. It will be absolutely foolish to wait for another such moment if we ever wanted to retaliate. Tolstoy said you may not like war but war likes you. Without a strong military, diplomacy will not work. If you do not have capability or the intention to neutralize your adversary on the battlefield your diplomacy of talking will be a waste of time, especially with a state like Pakistan.

Military dictators of Pakistan have ensured the acquisition of Nuclear weapons making both Pakistan and India even on this platform. Firstly internationally community must be held completely responsible for allowing a hardened Islamist country like Pakistan to acquire nuclear weapons.

To make our message clear it must be communicated to Pakistan that being a democracy does not mean we are weak and when it comes to national security all political parties have a same line of thought, maybe this is impossible having communists in India, but we should try out.

And importantly “no first use” doctrine must be scraped with immediate effect and the new doctrine must be worded in such a way that when a conventional and limited war is not forcing an adversary to negotiating table, nuclear weapons will be used. This will send a message to Pakistan that India will launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike. If we are doing that it means we are talking.

Responding to Chris Clary's Post on recent killings of Indian Solders by Pak Terrorists

Responding to Chris Clary's Post on recent killings of Indian Solders in Poonch by Pakistan Terrorists.

One of the common misconceptions of scholars in West on Indo-Pak relations is that Pakistan's civilian government is doing an overtime job on creating a framework for rapprochement with India. For Pakistan it is playing its due role as a failed and terrorist state. Civilian authority has no control over actions of any institutions not to mention Military. I fail to understand the reasons why we should continue to talk to somebody who has no authority over the entire territory. It will be a great service if we recall, through out its existence it remained and will continue to remain under the rule of Military Junta. And most of the population prefers to live under military regime. So much so that ever since it was formed only one so called civilian government could complete its actual term.

To balance the asymmetry of warfare when it comes to confrontation with India it resorted to proxy wars. Lets not forget that Pakistan was formed on Hindu Hatred and constantly thrives on that premise. As far as the Congress Party concerned it always played Pak-Terrorist's issue as a vote getter there by setting up a theory that by taking stern action on Pakistan it could lose Muslim votes in India, Indira Gandhi was an exception anyway. It is really painful to see people especially in academic world try to distinguish Pakistan Military and Terrorist groups which flourish there. Please remember especially when it comes to India there is no difference between Pak military and Pak terrorists.

The leftist discourse has caused considerable damage to our response to Pakistan when ever they engage in such gruesome acts. Pakistan treats India/Bharath as a country which is inhabited by Hindus and converting it in to Darul Islam is their pious duty. India being a bustling democracy does not have a decisive leader in power to take decisive actions. Resources to retaliate was never an issue, armed forces is battle ready. Only when the Hindu Hatred is abolished from the minds of Pakistanis, peace is possible. But then with out the jaundiced Hindu-Hatred view terrorism industry will go bankrupt. And the Jihadi's (Military & Terrorists) will never allow that to happen. I have spoken about this on why China and Pakistan can never be India's friends.

Snowden & Spying : What Kautilya says ?

To a question whether Spying is wrong ? May be right, may be wrong ? It was always there though the latest sophisticated technologies have changed the way it is done. After Edward Snowden's episode we have a flurry of questions raised and circulated by the Leftists in the form of propaganda against their imaginary enemy Imperialist America. If all the countries have to remain like isolated islands with out any connection to the other geographies or the peoples of other nationality then reliance on this medium to ensure political stability at home is minimum because, in that case we may have to deal with only internal trouble makers for which spying is still indispensable.

Snowden is China's stooge ?

I thought America just resolved Anna Chapman episode and we had this Wikileaks now the Avalanche impact of Snowden's revelations. Just before Snowden's revelations US has been making a lot of noise about Chinese cyber attacks on its corporations and accused it of stealing trade secrets and intellectual property. It was never specific, no body was sure whether it was about to release more details. China may have many Snowdens deep inside the American Enterprise holding key positions in government and private enterprises they must be identified and eliminated, for they are rear annoyance as per Kautilya's Arthashastra. China used just one Snowden to shake the applecart slightly, there are many more to come ? If China is spying to steal trade secrets and intellectual property, US does it to secure democracy and peace for its citizens, the notoriety is there to judge for all of us. There are already reports surfacing about another US citizen a retired general leaking the details on Stuxnet Virus, so there is a lot of crisis ahead for US.

Kautilya's's take on Spies in his Arthashastra :

The legendary Kautilya - senior advisor in Mauryan administration who toppled the powerful Nandas from throne in his Arthashastra talks in detail about Spies.

In chapter III of Book IX - The work of an Invader he talks about the internal and external troubles a state could face and which should be dealt with on a priority basis.
OF the two things, slight annoyance in the rear, and considerable profit in the front, slight annoyance in the rear is more serious; for traitors, enemies, and wild tribes augment on all sides the slight annoyance which one may have in the rear. The members of one's own state may be provoked about the acquisition of considerable profit in the front.
Slight annoyance in the rear he refers to the internal troubles or unknown/known enemies internally, is more serious than known external enemies. So that must be looked up in to first before. And further he defines what is an internal enemy or a rear annoyance.
The provocation of any one of the minister, the priest, the commander-in-chief, and the heir-apparent is what is termed internal trouble.

And explains what to do about it - the phenomena of Internal enemy
The king should get rid of such an internal enemy either by giving up his own fault or by pointing out the danger arising from an external enemy

The above statement has two aspects getting rid of such an internal enemy and convincing him by telling him the danger of an external enemy or giving himself up, though we may not have consensus on using these two solutions but we might agree on one thing ie., to get rid of him. Making sure that he is ridden with out flouting the principles of modern day justice is indeed a challenging task. I am sure Americans can innovate.

The focus should be to expose China's theft, one at a time, I think it is already started. China stealing an American company's Turbine Software ?

Politics make strange bed fellows?

The most talked about incident in the recent days is JD (U) unilaterally deciding to get itself out of BJP led NDA on a very flimsy pretence that Mr. Narendra Modi has been elevated as a poll committee chief of BJP.  Though Nitish’s personal ego never allowed him to share any platform with Mr. Modi especially in the run up to last Bihar Assembly Elections and his ego has never waded from then on. Though many contradicted Mr. Kumar that why he suddenly woke up to a term coined and tailor made by congress i.e., Secularism? Most of the media and including BJP reminded him how he showered praise on Modi in the immediate after math of Gujarat riots, but I do not want to go to that far. But very recently JDU said that Modi is campaign committee chief for BJP not NDA. Then what happened in a matter of few days?
Nitish who made his political fortune by opposing congress until recently, began to warm up to the very congress he has been fighting against all his life. Yes. We knew that there are no permanent friends and permanent enemies in politics, only permanent interests but this unexpected flip flop from him shows that he simply over estimated his popularity, and is desperately trying to cash in on Modiphobia which is a media created smoke.
Is this all about Muslim Votes or does he himself aspires to become a prime minister or is it true that he cannot stomach the fact that Modi is increasingly becoming popular? It was often told by neutralists that for BJP and JDU each other’s support is inevitable for each other. Now that one has gone rougue on new found secularism and is ready to enter in to an intercourse with his onetime enemy – Congress, but not anymore. If he thinks that by breaking friendship with BJP he can gain few Muslim votes then it must be realized that gullibility of Muslim voters is fast eroding. In the post poll scenario I will not be surprised to see Nitish extending his friendship to Modi. For now two former enemies are friends, congress and JDU, for JDU doom is not too far as it betrayed not BJP but people of Bihar.

Why Muslims of India should stop behaving like a herded lot?

In the current scenario whoever is talking (Just talking not doing) about interests of Muslims will be declared instantly as a secular mascot. Once such soft words are uttered, political parties expect Muslims to vote en masse to that specific political entity. The Brits have played this type of divisive politics through communal representation, ie., where Muslims will vote for Muslim candidates and Hindus will vote for Hindu candidates though this was never a demand of any major section of Hindus, this was understandably done to please Muslims and pit them against Hindus which actually worked out to the benefit of British.
For nearly eight centuries Muslim Invaders/rulers ruled this massive continent through force, threat and coercion, not to mention the atrocities endured by Hindus. Can you imagine this happening in a Muslim majority country? I bet you cannot.
It is true that the arrogant and egomaniac Jinnah wanted a separate land to be carved out for Muslims but significant section chose to remain in India, and they must be feeling lucky for that right now. In a country where individual dignity is constitutionally guaranteed there is going to be no benefit if they fall prey to verbal niceties of so the called secular parties which treat them as votes not humans.
For once they have realized that organizations like RSS and BJP trying to represent the unheard voices of Hindus in an organized manner, the short sighted political parties mainly the likes of congress have chosen to play the role of messiah for Muslims and started demonizing Hindus as villains, so they should vote en masse to them instead of BJP.
For a very long time Muslims have behaved like a herd which was fooled by false leaders, Jinnah is a relevant example. In late 1920's and/or in early 1930 when it fought elections it lost squarely to Congress even in Muslim majority areas. Then in the next elections Immoral Jinnah sought to use name of Allah and asked all Muslims to vote his league in the name of Allah, then everyone did. This is one distinct feature of Muslims within the context of South Asia where they can be politically mobilized without much of a trouble in the name of religion.
Muslims being the next major religious group after Hindus, it is natural for the short sighted political parties to play the secular card for their own benefits. There are encouraging signs that Muslims becoming more of a heterogeneous society now, where no one can fool them in the name of god, if that becomes more apparent than it is good for country in general and Muslims in particular. It is fore most for all the Muslims to realize that their ancestors once in the past were Hindus and their Hindu ancestry is undisputed. What is in Islam that you cannot live peacefully with people of other religions? Many say it was not the original intent of Islam but it was distorted by wahabis.
And the perpetual discussion of 2002 riots has not helped any one. The zealot leftist forces in India are doing their best to keep this alive and Muslims are just the victims of anxiety. For once we should realize that 2002 riots are repercussion of burning a train and the killing of around 60 people. The judgment of media trail is already out and they have convicted the state administration and Modi, how foolish it is? then why do we have courts? If Hindus were ever have to enumerate and perpetuate the genocides committed by Muslim league it would become an endless affair, let’s take the example of mother of all genocides, it was the violence unleashed after the call of day of direct action by Jinnah in 1946 where thousands of Hindus were killed, women were raped, men forcibly converted and women forced to marry Muslim men. After such atrocities committed mainly through instigation of Muslim league in Noakhali (famously called as Noakhali Genocide), Gandhi said:
"I would far rather see India’s women trained to wield arms than that they should feel helpless"
So therefore I would choose to blame the leadership of Muslim league, for Muslims they never had a moral leadership to guide them in a saner path.
One thing is very clear for all that Pakistan tried to achieve or is trying to achieve through religion, it has nothing to offer on the socio-economic platform and in terms of better standards of living for its citizens. And I can only hope Indian Muslims will cleverly identify who is corrupt and who is not when it comes to voting in the upcoming elections and punish the parties which treated them like a bunch of votes, and demand rights from the state as a citizen of India instead of doing it as a Muslim, thereby keeping their religious affiliation as their private affair and not allowing politics to mix with it.

BJP & Inner Party Democracy

The recent debacle of Shri Advani‘s resignation and then reverting his decision after consultations proves once again that it is only in BJP people can agree to disagree and an individual’s will not to be imposed on others unlike Congress. In an era where political parties are run like family businesses, BJP is the only party to reckon with when it comes to putting basic tenets of democracy in to practice. Though I would not be able to comment on what made Advani to take his resignation back, but the very resignation in firstly place is ill timed and did not go well with current situation. There is no one man decision, it is all decided by a group of members – Parliamentary Board whose collective majority decision stands, at least that is how it appears. Elders always want the younger to take cue from their gestures and they do not prefer to say it explicitly and the younger want to pretend as if they have not understood these gestures though they do. It is hard to believe that because of one specific incident he took that extreme action but it is a compounded reaction of acts over a period time which he did not like.
All the while BJP has been talking about Inner party democracy, meaning which if parliamentary board consists of 9 members for example and 8 members agree with a decision then it simply becomes a collective decision it should not matter if one (Advani ?) disagrees. By putting his papers Advani has sent out a wrong message that all these days that it was only he who took the decision unilaterally and other had to just agree on it. So this time nobody agreed and he resigned? One of my friends recently told me that if a politician writes a memoir he must not continue in active politics, I am not sure how relevant it is but that seems to be the practice. So I think he must have gracefully stepped down after publishing “My Life My country” but he remained. I can understand why Swapan Das Gupta burst out after Advani’s resignation. I am too deeply anguished by this.
Even after I have grown up and I am on my own but if I do not listen to an advice of my parent’s and act on my own volition, elders do not like it. They complain to neighbors that their son is not heeding to their advice, without realizing the fact that they are weakening their own and family’s prestige in society. Advani did exactly the same, he has been saying few things to the younger ones with in the four walls, and then he started to complain to neighbors ie., attacking his own party in blogs for quite some time and once he realized that it did not work out, at the right moment he pulled the rug. All the while younger ones pretended that the father is happy because he did not say it explicitly what his problems are.
At times elders too misjudge, opposing Modi’s elevation is one such example. There is no question of whether he is a popular leader and there is no interest to debate on how he has become so popular, it is enough that people started to picture him as one solution for all their woes. When a foreigner/s is looting the country with the help of locals we needed a full strength to counter them and his act was a shocker to all.
Nobody denies you are a father of your daughter or son but expecting them to behave the way you like or do what you want even after they have attained the capability to take independent decisions for the benefit of whole family is uncalled for.
